I’ve asked plenty of seemingly odd questions of my new American friends over the last month or so. I’ve received stunned looks for asking whether I should get my flour bleached or unbleached; incredulous stares when, after being directed to the first floor, asking which one that is; and outright laughter when trying to establish to what degree real-life resembles films I’ve seen. The answer to that last one is very strongly, by the way.
However, I think this question from an American on British etiquette tops anything I’ve come out with so far. I’ve pasted it verbatim below, on the condition I don’t name the asker:
Do strippers in the UK have like a coin purse or something? Or does everyone give them £5 notes? And how do they make receiving coins sexy? ’cause in the US you put the dollar between the girl’s boobs, or in their thong and they make it sexy, but you can’t do that with coins. Or can you? Enlighten me.
Have you ever put a 50p piece in stripper’s cleavage? Answers on a postcard people.

I personally haven’t put a 50p piece in a strippers cleavage, because it just wouldn’t work. Even in America I would give them at least 5 bucks, cause a dollar seems to cheap.
Afterall, I expect to spend a lot of money if I go to a strip club.
Well of course you give them more than a dollar total, it’s a dollar at a time as the tease progresses.
